In December, Peter Spitz, the Director of Technology Development at AmSpec Group, was honored by Dr. James J. Simnick, the Chairman of ASTM International’s Committee D02, in Anaheim, CA, for his and our HTC team’s contributions to the development of the compositional analysis of pyrolysis oil derived from waste plastic (ASTM D8519). This award recognizes that AmSpec is leading the way in testing advanced waste plastic process oils (WPPO).
The accompanying statement reads: “In recognition of your many years of outstanding service and active participation in developing ASTM D8519, the Committee, along with the Officers and Members of the ASTM Subcommittee Section D02.04.L, expresses their deep appreciation for your efforts and accomplishments.”
Peter Spitz was present to accept the award. He stated, “I cannot accept this award personally, but I will accept it on behalf of all my colleagues who work tirelessly to develop methods, assist others, and pursue the truth.” Congratulations to Peter and the entire AmSpec Research and Development team for this remarkable recognition!
The ASTM Committee D02 on Petroleum Products and Lubricants was established in 1904. It meets twice a year, in June and December, and approximately 1,000 members attend the five-day technical meetings.
