AmSpec offers Hard Plastic Testing (HPT) for characterization and evaluation of contaminants at the Houston Technical Center (HTC). This has been driven by the energy industry and its need for knowledge of the feedstocks for co-processing hard plastic and pyrolyzing plastics to make Waste Plastic Process Oil (WPPO) as well as other finished fuels/products.
Advanced recycling offers new ways to address the challenges surrounding increasing plastic consumption by deconstructing materials back into their molecular components. These molecules are then utilized as the basic building blocks for producing fuels, lubricants, new plastics, and other valuable commodities. The testing of the feed and advanced renewable WPPO assist in the Life Cycle Assessments (LCA), Carbon Intensity (CI), and decarbonization objectives of our clients.
