Chemical Analyst
Responsibility / Authority
- Perform chemical analyses, primarily spectrometric by ICP-MS, according to internal methodologies/guidelines.
- Follow the Quality Policy and laboratory best practices safely.
- Assist the specialist in method development and validation for this technique.
- Authorized to analyze and report results.
Main Activities
- Prepare routine and validation study samples, calibration curves, and solutions.
- Program equipment for analysis (ICP-MS, Microwave, IC).
- Participate in ICP-MS method development and validation.
- Check reagent and glassware inventory to ensure replenishment.
- Monitor expiration dates of reagents and consumables.
- Control the inventory of chemical products regulated by the Civil Police, Federal Police, and Army (PC/PF/EX).
- Allocate analyzed samples for disposal or archiving.
- Dispose of chemical waste in the proper designated locations.
- Record intermediate verifications of equipment and environments.
- Comply with quality control and quality assurance procedures.
- Identify equipment repair and maintenance needs.
- Assist with quality control records in the laboratory.
Required Qualifications
- Education / Courses: Bachelor’s Degree or Technical Degree.
- Active registration with the professional council (CRQ).
- 2 years of experience in metals analysis by ICP.
Desired Qualifications
- Basic or advanced English.
- ISO 17025 course.
- Experience with ICP-MS.
