Junior Accountant – Middle East (Dubai)
Job Summary
The Junior Accountant is responsible for supporting the Finance Department in maintaining accurate financial records, processing accounting transactions, assisting with month-end reporting, and ensuring compliance with Company policies and applicable accounting standards. The role supports the financial operations of the Company’s inspection, testing, laboratory, and related service activities across the Middle East region.
Key Responsibilities
- Process and record accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions accurately and timely.
- Prepare and post journal entries in the accounting system.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
- Reconcile bank accounts, supplier statements, customer accounts, and general ledger balances.
- Monitor customer receivables and follow up on outstanding payments.
- Assist with invoice verification, payment processing, and vendor account management.
- Maintain fixed asset records and supporting documentation.
- Support payroll accounting and employee expense reimbursement processes.
- Assist with cash flow monitoring and treasury-related activities.
- Ensure proper filing and maintenance of accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and explanations.
- Assist in the preparation of tax filings, statutory reports, and regulatory submissions as required.
- Verify the accuracy of financial data and identify discrepancies for resolution.
- Ensure compliance with Company financial policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Support Finance Management with ad hoc financial analysis and reporting requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
- Professional accounting certification (ACCA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent) is an advantage.
- 1–3 years of accounting experience, preferably within the oil & gas, inspection, testing, laboratory, or service industries.
- Experience working with ERP and accounting systems.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
