Job Description

The Quality Assurance Coordinator is responsible for all activities and documentation related to laboratory Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) and ISO certification. The coordinator will also be responsible for maintaining quality control procedures, as well as related records. The coordinator will support the Laboratory Manager in quality related qualification and competence requirements of personnel, quality control, round robins and client or regulatory reporting in compliance with AmSpec’s quality system.

 Key responsibilities:

  • Serving as focal point for Laboratory QA/QC and will be responsible for overseeing and reviewing of quality

control data on a regular basis;

  • Round Robin summaries are prepared, reviewed and action items are monitored;
  • Provide assistance in continuous improvement for laboratory quality;
  • Prepare and maintain internal audit schedule (laboratory), according to the quality system procedure;
  • Promotes staff development through coaching, mentoring, and facilitating professional growth opportunities (QA

related);

  • Communicate all relevant issues relating to operations, QHSE management;
  • May be assigned and coordinate special or ad hoc – on special request;
  • Check and verify Corrective actions prior to close out of the Lab related NCR’s;
  • Ensure correct laboratory Methods and Norms are up to date;
  • Assist on incident investigations.

Desirable skills/experience/education

  • Bachelor of Science degree or similar in a technical discipline;
  • Minimum of + 2 years’ relevant Quality related experience;
  • ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, ISO 17025 Auditor;
  • Knowledge of Petrochemical products, chemicals or other liquid cargo;
  • Current knowledge of (local) Laboratory requirements and regulations;
  • Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail.

  • Country/Regional team involvement required;
  • Thorough understanding of the company’s business and client base;
  • Ability to work well with others & independently, without supervision;
  • Must possess strong managerial experience and interpersonal skills, as well technical and practical knowledge

of quality systems;

  • Good organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are essential;
  • Candidates must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills in English;
  • Proficiency in other languages besides English (Dutch, German, Spanish, Russian, Italian etc.) is valuable;
  • Must be able to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner;
  • Proficient in using various types of computer and planning software (Word, Excel. PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Occasional travel to may be required;
  • Ensures full compliance with the company’s Health & Safety, Code of Integrity, and Professional Conduct policies.
