Today, we are celebrating AmSpec’s 40th Anniversary!
It began in 1986 in a small office in New Jersey, where a local inspection company was founded with a simple mission: to serve the energy industry with accuracy and reliability. From our humble beginnings in New York Harbor to becoming a global leader in Testing, Inspection, and Certification, we’ve embraced every challenge and opportunity along the way.
Over the past 40 years, we have expanded our Energy division to every continent and launched many new divisions: Agri & Food, Metals & Minerals, Additives, Marine Assurance & Vetting, Consumer Products, Business Assurance & Sustainability, and Environmental Testing. In 2026, our growth has reached over 400 locations in more than 70 countries, all unified by what we call “The AmSpec Way”: reliability, integrity, and trust.
Embracing the energy transition as an opportunity, we built renewable labs in various locations and launched new verticals to support clients’ sustainability and environmental goals. Today, we are not just testing fuels; we are testing the future.
As we mark this incredible milestone, we pause to recognize the true architects of our success. A huge thank you to our dedicated global team of over 8,000 employees and to valued customers and partners on every continent, who have made this journey possible.
