If you suspect that your Used Cooking Oil (UCO) may be contaminated with Cashew Nut Shell Liquid (CNSL), AmSpec has developed a new testing method that can quickly scan UCO for the presence of CNSL and other contaminants.
CNSL is a dark brown viscous oil extracted from the shells of cashew nuts. It is not naturally found in cooking oil and may be present due to intentional blending with UCO. CNSL can pose risks to HEFA plants due to stronger acidity, catalyst poisoning, and compromising end-product quality and yield.
CNSL determination is usually done by Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometry, a high-end analytical instrument that may take a few days to complete and incur high analysis costs. AmSpec has developed a method to quickly scan CNSL in UCO, which takes a few hours to complete and only costs a fraction of the GC-MS analysis.
In celebration of Singapore’s 60th National Day, we are offering a special promotion: a 60% discount on our CNSL testing services until August 31, 2025.
