We’d love to get to know you better. Could you share a little about your career journey and what inspired you to work in agriculture?
I’ve spent nearly 20 years in the Testing, Inspection, and Certification (TIC) industry, and for the past 10 years I’ve had the privilege of contributing to the success of AmSpec’s U.S. Agriculture division. Throughout my career in the TIC industry, I’ve enjoyed working closely with customers in the fats, oils, and grains markets. Building lasting relationships and collaborating with a talented team have been some of the most rewarding parts of my career.
Your role keeps you close to customers and operations. What part of your work do you enjoy the most?
What I enjoy most is getting to know our customers. Taking the time to understand their businesses, listening to their needs, and helping support their success has been one of the most rewarding parts of my career.
Every shipment has a story behind it. Is there a memorable project or customer experience that has stayed with you throughout your career?
Since beginning my journey with AmSpec in 2016, one customer experience has remained especially meaningful to me. Working alongside our talented Agri U.S. team, I had the opportunity to help establish a strong relationship with a client who was expanding their footprint in the renewable market. Over the years, that relationship continued to strengthen, and it has been incredibly rewarding to see the customer continue to place their trust in AmSpec by expanding their use of our services across multiple business lines and regions. Seeing that relationship evolve over time has been one of the most meaningful experiences of my career.
Building strong relationships is a key part of your role. What do you think clients value most when working with AmSpec?
I believe our customers value trust, consistency, and reliability above all else. They rely on AmSpec to provide dependable service, accurate results, and responsive communication. Strong customer relationships are built over time, and earning that trust comes from consistently delivering on our commitments every day.
In your opinion, what qualities make someone successful in agricultural inspection and commodity services?
Success in this industry starts with integrity and a strong work ethic. Being dependable, communicating effectively, and building trust with both customers and colleagues are qualities that contribute to long-term success.
As a woman in a leadership role within the agriculture and TIC industry, what advice would you give to other women looking to build a successful career in this field?
Work hard, stay curious, and never stop learning. Build relationships based on trust, be dependable, and always lead with integrity. Your reputation will be one of the most valuable things you build throughout your career.
Collaboration is essential in our industry. What have you found to be the secret to building strong, successful teams?
Strong teams are built on trust, communication, and mutual respect. Everyone brings different strengths and perspectives, and creating an environment where people feel valued, supported, and accountable helps teams achieve their best.
What is one lesson your career has taught you that you still rely on today?
One lesson my career has taught me is that people will remember whether they could depend on you, trust you, and count on you to follow through. Building that kind of reputation takes time, consistency, and a commitment to doing your best every day.
When you’re not working, what hobbies or interests keep you inspired?
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and grandchildren, traveling, and staying active. Whether I’m exploring a new destination, hiking, or relaxing on the beach, I enjoy experiences that help me recharge and create lasting memories.
