How long have you been with the company, and what brought you to the TIC industry in the first place?

I have been with AmSpec for 9 years, since the company’s inception in Brazil, and I have worked in the TIC industry for about 25 years. The agribusiness sector has always been a strong source of motivation for me.

Being part of this productive chain, which connects producers to global markets, is something I consider extremely valuable and meaningful. Contributing to safe, reliable, and efficient trade flows is what truly motivates me every day.

Can you briefly describe your role as a Commercial Executive at AmSpec Brasil?

I have worked in the commercial department since the beginning of my career. However, through post-sales follow-up and close contact with operations, we become practical specialists, able to develop solutions based on real-world experience across many situations.

In this sense, my role can be summarized as participating in both sales and post-sales activities, connecting people throughout the entire TIC process from the first contact with the client to the final delivery of the service by the operations team.

What’s your favorite part about coming to work every day?

What I enjoy most about coming to work every day is knowing that there will always be something new, such as connections, processes, and new challenges to learn. In this context, knowing that we make a difference and that we are valued, heard, and recognized is fundamental.

I value the opportunity to interact with different people, build relationships, and work together to find solutions. This environment not only allows me to collaborate and learn but also helps me grow personally and professionally.

What’s the most challenging part of your job?

The biggest challenge is leading the sales company in a highly competitive market. It is essential to keep the team motivated and engaged so that every service scope and client interaction can be transformed into the flawless delivery of the final product.

Another challenge is ensuring daily consistency in our operations and maintaining the quality of service, which is the company’s key competitive advantage in Brazil.

What qualities do you look for when hiring for your team?

I value characteristics such as determination, ambition, problem-solving ability, how a person reacts under pressure, and, most importantly, their willingness to learn.

Throughout my experience, focusing on these traits has proven to be very effective. Technical knowledge can always be developed over time, but attitude, commitment, and the desire to grow are what truly lead to stronger professional development and better results for the team.

What is your leadership style?

My leadership style has always been based on example and teamwork. I strive to have a deep understanding of everything involved in my role and responsibilities. I believe that developing a critical perspective and anticipating potential situations helps us become experts and make safer decisions.

In this context, I often become a natural reference point for connecting people, aligning expectations, and seeking solutions. Therefore, I consider my leadership to be collaborative, knowledge-based, close to the teams, and results-oriented.

What is the most common misconception clients have about testing or certification processes?

One of the most common misconceptions is that the involvement of an inspection company is simply a mandatory requirement and therefore contracted only to comply with a procedure. Inspection and testing services add value to the overall process. They ensure transparency, build trust between the parties, and enhance security in commercial transactions. In addition, they help reduce risks, verify that products meet contractual specifications, and provide reliable technical information that supports decision-making throughout the supply chain.

What is unique about the AmSpec Agri & Food division in Brazil?

I strongly believe that our success is driven by strong connections and engagement across the internal divisions. This alignment, combined with leadership that ensures everyone clearly understands their roles, allows each professional to contribute effectively with solutions and results.

This collaborative environment strengthens our ability to respond to market demands with efficiency, reliability, and a high level of service.

What is the best piece of career advice you ever received, and who gave it to you?

The best advice I ever received was to never give up and to maintain resilience, leveraging the unique skills women often bring to managing multiple tasks in a workplace where few women hold leadership positions. My husband’s support has been fundamental, allowing me to fully dedicate myself to the company, invest in my career, and balance my role as a mother at home.

What is one fun fact about you that would surprise your colleagues?

In the final year of earning my degree in International Trade, despite its importance, I did not speak English. With little money and no English skills, I left my small hometown to go to London and learn English. During this period, I stayed with a host family with many rules that I felt I should follow, but I could hardly understand anything.

Coffee or tea? And what’s your order?

Both are my favorites, but during the day I usually go for coffee, and in the evening, I enjoy a cup of tea to relax.
